Rail Fire Safety System

The planned fire alarm system is state-of-the-art technology, the development of which was driven by RSI and exclusively geared towards the special requirements of railway applications. This means that not only the experience gained from many years of railway activity and the large number of fire protection projects that have been successfully implemented in the meantime are incorporated here, but also, in particular, the latest developments in international normative standards.
In addition to meeting the basic rail standards (EN 50155), both hardware and software are certified SIL2 by an accredited inspection body according to current standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).

Regarding the activation circuit of the firefighting system and fire extinguishing system, the PFD value (average probability of failure on demand) meets SIL2 requirement based on IEC EN 61508 low demand function.
In total, all railway and safety-relevant product and system requirements for fire detection, firefighting and fire extinguishing as well as their control and monitoring are fulfilled according to UNI 11565 (2016).
